ボデガス・クロンティラス・エステイトは、アルゼンチンのメンドーサ、ルハン・デ・クージョにあります。
ルハン・デ・クージョはメンドーサ州で上質のブドウの木が育つ最も評判の良い地域の一つです。
コンスタンティノス（ギリシャ人）と妻のシルビィナ（アルゼンチン人）が、このエステイトを近年（2004年）に立ち上げました。

若いエステイトであるにもかかわらず、12ヘクタールのエステイトで栽培しているブドウの木は樹齢120年です。メンドーサ州で優れたブドウの木が育つもう一つの地域、マイプにこの家族は、さらに18ヘクタールのエステイトを所有しています。そこのブドウの樹齢は、ルハン・デ・クージョの木よりも若いです。

ルハン・デ・クージョとマイプにあるブドウ畑は900メートルの高度に位置し、壮大なアンデス山脈の近くです。ブドウは日中強い日差しにさらされますが、夜間はアンデス山脈からの風がブドウを冷やします。毎日起こるこのような気温変化がブドウの熟成過程を遅れさせますが、熟成度を高めることになります。時間をかけた密な過程は、シルクのようなタンニンと適切に調和した酸味の絶妙の組み合わせをもたらしています。自然のままの新鮮味を失うことなく、このワインは保管に耐え熟成します。

クロンティラス家は、初めから地球に優しい方法で自分たちのワインを造ることを決めていました。
彼らは、メンドーサ州で有機栽培のビオダイナミックワインを造った最初の家族であることを誇りに思っています。
彼らのブドウ畑は2008年に有機栽培の認定を受け、2012年にはビオダイナミックを認定されました。
彼らの哲学は自然を働かせること、つまり、野生酵母を使用し、ワインを造り上げる過程で出来る限り介入しないということです。

The Bodegas Krontiras Estate is located in Lujan de Cuyo, one of the most reputed areas to grow quality vines in Mendoza. The estate was created quite recently (in 2004) by Constantinos Krontiras (who is Greek) and his wife Silvina (who is Argentinian). Yet, while the estate is young, the vines growing on the estate of 12 ha are 60 ~80 years old. A further 18 ha are owned by the family in Maipu, another superior vine growing area in Mendoza. Here the vines are younger.

In both locations the vineyards are located at a height of 900 meters, close to the imposing Andes mountain chain. During the day the vines are exposed to intense sunshine but during the night they are cooled by the winds from the Andes Mountains. These diurnal temperature variations slow but also intensify the ripening process of the grapes. The slow and intense process results in a perfect combination of silky tannins and the right degree of integrated acidity. The wines will last and mature without losing their natural freshness.

Right from the beginning the Krontiras family decided to produce their wines in sustainable ways. They are proud to be the first to produce organic and bio-dynamic wines in Mendoza. The vineyards were certified organic in 2008 and bio-dynamic in 2012. Their philosophy is to let nature do their work, they use wild yeast and intervene as little as possible in the process of elaborating their wines.
